Who is Cristina Fernandez de Kichner

Welcome to my world of optimism. A world where everything is possible, even in Argentina. The wife of the outgoing president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner won the election(and I mean free and fair)to take over the highest office in her country. .

Yes, Argentina's president-elect Cristina Kirchner will take over from her husband, Nestor Kirchner and just before you look baffled, that is the reality of politics in the new millennium. 'Impossible is nothing', literally. The days of presidential profiling is long gone, and that gives the most qualified candidate a chance to serve their country regardless of race, background, or sex. Of course I don’t plan on being president, but just the thought of a fair landscape is fascinating, at least in my optimistic mind. Her game plan will include fighting poverty and pushing for further Latin American integration, especially in energy issues. Good luck Cristina.

Her Excellency, Mrs. Cristina Fernandez de Kichner is Argentina's first elected female president, and just in case you are waiting for my Hillary Clinton rant, not today.

Expect more pro-socialist policies in Argentina from now on - women tend to support the poor & limit the power of corporations.
Perhaps a move to the left should also be expected - a la Chavez of Venezuela?

I think we are seeing the rise of Global Matriarchate:)

I think that many people here don´t know anything about Argentine politics, and they only stress the fact that she is the president´s wife, saying it is nepotism. She has been a politician for many years in her own right, being even more popular than her husband in the 1990s.

There is so much to do in Argentina. It's not only the government's responsability to change but the people of Argentina and their actions are as crucial for the country's growth.

I hope she, the new Presidents of Chile, Mexico and Columbia can counter the dictatorial influence of Chavez and his Ecuadorian and Bolivian lackeys.

I am from Argentina so I like this topic. .Eric can I please add to your thoughts. . very random I might add. . President Nestor Kirchner could have chosen to run again for president (re elected for 1 more term, right granted by the Constitution of Argentina and he opted not to do so)
It's not that he said " honey, your are going to stop cooking dinner for me and be president of Argentina". Mrs Kirchner has more than 30 years of experience in politics. She was also democratically elected Senator before Nestor Kirchner was elected President. 11 candidates for Pres. and she was elected by direct vote.

But it is not only her task: every Argentine citizen should take care of our institutions; I hope the Congress fulfill its duties properly, as well as the Justice

I forgot to add,,,,THEN, there will be no need for any one from Latin America to go to the US and do menial jobs, thereby reinforcing the various negative stereotypes of people from Latin America!

It seems that we forget quickly about the corruption scandals, the rise of prices, the insecurity and all the other things that made Kirchner’s period outrageous.

If my spouse was the President or the Prime Minister of a country, I too would be able to succeed him or her. Look at the Bush, the Clinton, the Gandhi, the Mubarak, the Bhutto and now the Kirchner family. Is this what is mean when they say politics is fair (in the eye of a few previleged people)..

Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner won by manipulating the poor classes and the old people who receive pensions. These of course are uneducated people whose votes can be bought with a sandwich, I’m not kidding. In some neighbourhoods politicians gave mobile phones, home appliances and simply money to get people to vote them.

The present government talks as if they created an economic miracle, but this has been largely acheived by the biggest debt default in history and record commodity prices.

With Kirchner II, Argentina can expect 4 more years of rampant corruption, nepotism, populism and inflation. The country is steaming towards another crisis faster than you can say Eva Peron.

Hilary Clinton looks unstoppable but would be as useless as her husband.

I will prefer someone who not only cares for his country's security but also for the entire world's security. My favorite will be someone who will not be
As an Afghan national, I will prefer someone who helps Afghanistan not only for the interests of the United States but also for the interests of Afghanistan.
